Well, here we go then….

By | February 19, 2012

Welcome to my blog! In a nutshell this is going to be about data networking and security, plus my pursuit of Cisco Certified Networking Profesional (CCNP) status in Routing and Switching.

Along the way I’ll be blogging about where I’m up to with my certification studies, exams passed/failed etc (could be embrassing!) I also plan to use this blog to document study notes, labs etc that may even be useful to someone else….maybe getting a bit ahead of myself there…..

Also, I plan to blog some “how to” guides and useful (or useless) stuff relating to Cisco, Nortel and Check Point in particular and networking in general.

I’ve been inspired to start this blog after following several other networking blogs on the internet, and if I can add something that someone finds useful, then I’ll be happy.

Finally, why is my blog called “Not The Network”? Well, for most of my career in networking I’ve found that it’s very often the network that gets blamed for most problems, and I’ve spent a lot of time trying to prove otherwise….
